Health Focused Ideas for the Educational Environment

Emma’s courage deserves to be heard. Through the Pennsylvania State Vegetable Contest, she discovered that students can influence real decisions about school food. That experience gave her the confidence to speak up about reducing ultra‑processed foods in our schools—a concern grounded in both science and her daily experience as a student.
Her message is simple: students deserve real food that supports their health and learning.
I’m sharing her letter because student voice matters, and Emma is showing what leadership looks like at her age. If you support her request, please help amplify it. Share her message with educators, families, and anyone working to improve school meals in Pennsylvania so her voice reaches the people who can act on it.
